Burma, Especially Its Children – Post 7: The Invisible Children
In Burma, as most everywhere, you need to go out of your way to find the children with special needs.
It is not unusual in Burma for parents to abandon babies born with special needs, bringing them to orphanages or even leaving them in the street or in waste bins. However, once they are found, abandoned babies are taken care of in orphanages for children with special needs.
Some orphanages are government-run, while others are run by charitable groups.
And, just like all children, these kids come alive moving to music as their teachers
teach them traditional dance.
