A Majestic River Through the Rainforest

I travelled by boat on the Tambopata River several years ago.

I was with my media partner: Steven Senisi, videographer.

The river runs through the heart of the Tambopata Rainforest.

We saw many birds,

large and small -

capybaras (cool fact: capybaras are the world's biggest rodents!) -

insects and turtles

(amazing fact: butterflies and bees drink turtle tears for sodium and other nutrients) -

and people who live in the forest and count on the river to help meet their needs.

This is an amazing river!

However, this river is under threat; more on that in a new post . . . .
